Hello and welcome to my page, I’m Alyse (she/her). I’m so glad you are here! Please reach out if anything I say relates and resonates with you. I look forward to joining you in your journey.
In providing therapy I have found that using a trauma informed approach is extremely important for supporting my client’s overall emotional and physical stability. As an educated and knowledgeable trauma therapist, I offer various types of therapy, that include EMDR, IFS, Polyvagal, Mindfulness, and other creative and action techniques to offer you support in your therapeutic work. I also offer more traditional talk (and listening) therapy. My experience working as a therapist has shown me that using a combination of therapeutic approaches is more effective for resolving deeper issues than just using one approach like talk therapy. I have found this to be true for myself in doing my own personal work as the client in therapy, also. I find that in our time together we can determine which modality works best for your needs and comfort.
I am also trained as a Sand Tray Therapist and Play Therapist. I am a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) for children, teens, and all adults. I have a great deal of specific training and experiences in support of doing this type of therapeutic work.
I am licensed in Virginia and Florida (LCSW) and also in Massachusetts (LICSW).
I believe you are your best expert (about yourself and your process), frankly. Trusting and having this knowledge will allow us to work together towards what you would like to achieve in therapy for your life. Connection is incredibly important in life, including the connection between therapist and client. We call this the “The Therapeutic Relationship” and it is something that we can work on together, since it is necessary that we be able to connect and trust one another. It is extremely important for your personal work that you feel comfortable, safe, and supported therapeutically, and then as a result of this, your therapy will be effective and impactful for you.
